Noise Absorbers and Noise Control

Kimpton Acoustics can offer a range of custom-built noise absorbers. These come in many different forms, all of which serve a similar purpose. Our product range consists of acoustic panels, acoustic enclosures, baffles, canopies and hoods with all products either individually, or as a whole, able to be tailored to meet your specific noise control needs.

Hanging Acoustic Baffles

Suspended from ceilings, sound-absorbing hanging acoustic baffles offer a simple noise reduction technique. These acoustic baffles are non-intrusive, but still offer an affordable and practical noise control solution that is especially useful in large production or packaging halls and press shops. They can also be quite decorative and working with architects and interior designers we can manufacture and install attractive baffles that still get the job done and add to the overall aesthetic.

Acoustic Hoods & Canopies

Equally simple, yet just as effective as noise absorbers are drop-over acoustic hoods and canopies. They will often provide the perfect solution to reducing noise levels.

Acoustic Screening

Acoustic screening reduces the level of direct radiating noise and can reduce the reverberation noise levels experienced by personnel working in the nearby area. Our team can produce and supply bespoke screens that will help manage noise levels. These can be for internal and external use.

Wall & Ceiling Linings

At Kimpton Acoustics our team of specialists can select from a range of technically-advanced solutions to recommend the most appropriate and effective acoustic materials for internal wall and ceiling linings.  These linings, when specified and fitted correctly can become an effective sound absorption layer which is applied by our technicians to wall and ceiling surfaces that would otherwise reflect undesirable noise.

Kimpton Acoustic Solutions are part of the Kimpton Energy Solutions business, established over 50 years ago and providing exceptional quality work in mechanical engineering, HVAC and renewables in the North West and beyond.

Case Study

The Client

The Royal Mail distribution centre in Perth is a major depot for the East Scotland region, there are approximately 60 trucks travelling in and out each night.

The Challenge

Plans to increase the night time delivery and collection schedule were inhibited by council regulations regarding noise abatement after 8pm as the larger volume of traffic would result in disturbing noise emissions for local residents. A noise impact assessment identified that a minimum insertion loss of 12dB was required at the adjacent residential properties.

The Solution

Kimpton Energy Solutions were appointed to address the noise reduction challenge. Acoustic absorption wall lining, designed and manufactured as a modular construction to aid transportation and installation, was fixed to the walls and the underside of the canopy of the existing building.

The linings consist of sound absorption layers, which are applied to the surfaces that would otherwise reflect unacceptable noise.

An independent noise survey carried out after the installation showed that the noise emissions had been reduced to the required specified levels and the plans to increase the night-time schedule could go ahead.
